I have provided and maintained the flower barrels around Lincoln Park for several years so everyone, who drives, walks, or bikes through our lovely, walkable neighborhood, can enjoy some public beauty. I have never allowed commercial sponsors or signage, just simple beauty to complement our area. When I'm working on the barrels, I hear the gratitude from passers-by and drivers waiting at the traffic lights. I'm glad to offer this ever-so-slowly evolving performance art to the community so everyone can watch it grow and change.

I am reaching out to see if any of your members would be interested in taking turns working with me and/or adopting a traffic island to care for (just provide daily watering) for the growing season. I would like the flower barrels to flourish now that they have been planted but I could use some help. It is a way to connect with local, living, public art and give back to the community.

Please spread the word so if anyone is interested, either as individuals or as a group, they may contact me by email, phone, or text.

    Thank you,

    Joanne Hatfield
